Well that was unexpected but it turned out David had long-lost relatives who were "West Brom-witch" fans and were constantly talking about them to him - and their local rivals as well. However fair play to him because I wasn't wearing a replica shirt or anything, I was 4500 miles away in sunny Florida and not playing on a Sunday morning so he needed to be a bit more knowledgeable about "sawker" than the average American to have had such in-depth insights. In fact all this forensic analysis was the result of me wearing my own, custom-designed Reidy tribute t-shirt to Changs and them running an unmissable BOGO Offer that month. A nice dinner was enjoyed of course but it also got me thinking…

After over three decades working in music and technology this is the chance to make part of my work my even greater love of football in general and Forest in particular. They say you should do what you love and I have always tried to do that but this is pure self-indulgence. It's been interesting so far, lots of twists and turns, hundreds of products released, many internationally acclaimed and even ending up with some of them in Apple Retail and on the front page of their website - that resulting in 'the Hollywood Sign' having the cheek to threaten to sue me! It never came to anything of course, just like The Vatican they were just trying it on, some people these days eh? - also having the opportunity to work with some of my musical heroes. The lead marketing executive at Apple thought the cover of one of our products was the best he had seen in his career. There were hundreds, some almost stretching back to the Eighties, so there were definitely a few dogs amongst them. Now the chance to use many of the skills used over all those years for this project dedicated to the glorious history of Nottingham Forest as it has unfolded in front of me. We will try to creatively highlight the special moments, players and experiences that have all made this wonderful club irresistible to me since the day I remember seeing a news item on BBC News about this maverick young manager had just scraped his way into Division 1 and were the new, exciting team pulling up trees in this sport I had recently become fascinated with. I was hooked. Then, now and forever.
