ForestFanBase NewsTime for a breather and something new
The season is over, the dust has settled and interesting times lay ahead before the first ball of the next season is kicked. For me it'll be the first season as a season ticket (card!) holder and it's going to be a significant one for the club too. Lots of players are likely to come and go as Karanka stamps his authority on the club and builds a team in his image.
So what could we do? Impossible to do much with the artwork with new players and shirts to await - let alone goals, etc. to follow. So the thought occurred to me, with a nudge from Adam, to create a blog. So we've taken the opportunity to do just that. A blog with commenting, a mailing list, redesign the website, generally get everything into shape and commit to write something on a semi-regular basis next season. Maybe even a podcast element as I have some ideas for others I'm going to do and would like to extend that to FanBase possibly too.
Why? Aside from just avoiding idle hands I'd love to try and do something to help engender and sustain a positive vibe that seems all too easy to lose at Forest. There never seems to be quite enough calmness and perspective about the place. Let's see how it turns out and if we can help in any way. Every Forest fan should be doing their bit to be the 12th man. I hope a lot of you pitch in and Forest can be known as a club with it's fans behind it rather than on its back. Together we are Forest!

Returning Trio

This month we have added the three stars in line to come back just in time for the crunch Derby game at Pride Park - the superb David Vaughan, Matty Cash and Jamie Ward. Like these three designs and hopefully a couple of them can play an important part in the big game one way or another. We also added a great image we have had in the archives for a while of Zach Clough which we hope you like too. The next batch we will add we hope to have in good time for Xmas and try to cover most of the outstanding stuff we have planned barring a selection we are holding back for the second half of the season. More news on these as they come along.
We also plan to add the archive of art from the players who have departed and will now never make it into the catalogue and we also have a new venture we hope to release that will also hopefully be of interest.

Want us to feature a particularly memorable moments we haven't yet got around to? A legendary player from the past or just a type of clothing? If so please get in touch and we will see what we can do. As nearly everything we do is custom made we will always try and provide anything there's a demand for. There are far more options available than we can offer so if you want a particular colour or need a bigger size then we might need to consider a different style of t-shirt or work out a special quote for a piece of art. We have launched with the aim of covering most of our current Clough & Taylor art, some icons and a couple of the current players. We aim to add more of the current squad every few weeks or so and will run polls on social media to decide which to do first and offer prizes for people voting so watch out for those. Equally the same for legends. We already also plan to cover our art from the European Cup triumphs to get things rolling in September and add to them occasionally too. We have lots of ideas already and will hopefully only get more as the months pass. Stay tuned, it should be interesting.

Nice to see us getting praised recently by Joe Worrall when he was interviewed and also Jordan Smith gave his seal of approval to our tribute to his remarkable save that almost single handedly saved our status as a Championship at the end of a very disappointing campaign last season. We released a small preview on his phantom August birthday that he was kind enough to describe as "Fantastic". We plan to send him a canvas soon so he can be constantly reminded of that sensational save.

Welcome to the new Forest FanBase! Time for something new. We did the app a few seasons ago. It was impossible to do it properly really, the league didn't really allow it and even simple things like trying to get accurate shirts for each season was a challenge in itself. We managed it for a couple of seasons but gave up last season after the idea was basically copied hook, line and sinker so it was at least nice to know we were onto something all along. Should have done it using fans and crowdfunding from the very start and it could really have worked but everything is easy in hindsight! So anyway, what's next? This is…
We have long thought that there were not enough fan-wear that was creative. All too often it was just a couple of poorly typeset club slogans and that was it. As a spin-off from the app we started creating original artworks as we went along and after a few years had quite a collection. Unfortunately a few have left and not quite reached legend status so they won't be of too much use now but nevertheless we have a nice archive. It seemed the obvious thing to fill the gap that few - aside from some honourable mentions for the likes of the Art of Football - were catering for. So for the last month or two we have been working on lots of new work and thinking about designs using what we have created which we are now, finally, able to unveil. We haven't really told anyone yet but the few people we did tell in advance were excited about what we had in mind. So here it is! We've had lots of little technical issues to sort out and there will no doubt be a few more. You'll see a few although we will have warned you about them I hope. Anyway I hope you like what we have done and what we have coming up. Some will not hit the mark but I think there are going to be a few that are really spot on. Typical of anything Forest related over the last few decades so highly appropriate. I'd better save some stuff for the homepage and the About Us one too so I'll end by saying that I hope this is a lot of fun. It'd be great if Forest Supporters became the most visible in the country. Come on you Reds!
